Continued from [link]

A new category for me! This one has to find its way into the the digital art category, because all the colour work is done in Photoshop.

This is just a trial colour on the armour and rifle (so no skin, hair, ground or plant life yet).
As a precaution, I've got it all separated into layers in PS, so I can adjust each area independent of the others if I decide I would prefer a different colour anywhere.

Doing this, I was reminded once again why scale armour is not the best of ideas for a character. Drawing it in the first place was time consuming enough - colouring it means I have to apply highlights and shadows to each individual scale.
It can look good, but it takes a lot of time to do, because there are no real short cuts to it.

I imagine the plant life will be a similar problem, but that's the price you pay for putting in lots of details.

As usual, I've got this set to an 800x600 display size, so if you want to see the finer details, you'll need to open the 1600x1200 download version .

Thanks. I really do need to get back to the colouring - I'm honestly surprised that it's been a month since I posted this.

Thanks. :)

This is a bit of a learning experience in my case, because I'm not all that familiar with digital colouring, but I seem to be starting to get into it. There does seem to be a LOT of swapping between colours and brush sizes involved in the process though...

This is more of a comic colouring than a serious shading, although I may eventually try it both ways - which is not a choice I often get!
